Imagine that you are at a basketball game, instead of just an ordinary basketball game, you are at an NBA game. You see Kobe Bryant running towards the basket and then Artest passes the ball to him in the air. So Kobe runs and then catches the ball like if it was meant for him and then slams the ball into a dunk. Is that not a pretty sight to see, I mean watching an NBA player throw down a dunk. Yes, it is and you might be wanting to do the same thing, which is to dunk a ball right? Do not worry, you do not have to be over 6 foot tall to be able to dunk, but it does mean that you will have to work harder though and when you do then that makes you a better athlete.
The way to increase your vertical is to practice jumping. How simple and straight forward can that be? Well it is pretty straight forward, if you want to dunk or practice and increase your vertical then it is only natural that you are training. Okay, if you still do not get me then let me say this, you want to dunk but you just want to focus on weight training and that stuff. But if you want to be efficient in the jumps that you take then it is only natural that you practice jumping, and I do not mean just jumping, I am talking about how you practice jumping with the right form that way you can get maximum efficiency for each jump you do.
Weight training is the way to go if you ever want to increase your vertical leap. Weight training will strengthen the muscles and with that, then you will also be able to generate more power with your muscles and movements in a short amount of burst. The way that weight training works, is this, every one has muscles in the body and with that then if you strengthen your muscles then you will also make yourself explosive, and if you do not know what explosive is then it means that you are able to make yourself propel yourself higher into the air.
There are lots of exercises that you can do like the squats because they are the most known and the most common exercise that you can do to make yourself more explosive. The squats works out all the lower body muscles and that is a key to jumping higher.
